Wolverine Mine is a defunct iron mine located in Ishpeming, Michigan. It was in operation from 1881 until 1969, producing a total of around 46 million tons of iron ore during its operation. The mine was known for the high quality of its ore and for being one of the largest open-pit mines in the world.
